What is a good vacation destination or cruise to go on for a surprise?
I’m trying to get some ideas to take my girlfriend on a surprise vacation when I get back from Afghanistan. Money isn’t really an issue so I would like something nice. She will be 24 and I’ll be 23 when we take this vacation. If this helps at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I was thinking maybe someplace in Europe. Maybe a nice a couples resort.
I’d stay away from a cruise. They can be boring.
If money is not an object, try Hawaii. Go to a couple
different islands: Maui, Big Island, Oahu of course.
How to effectively use up your makeup (eyeshadow)?
I am 19 and didn’t start wearing makeup until 2 years ago. Over the years I have accumulated alot of eyeshadow shades just to figure out what fits me best and what makes my eyes pop and now I am pretty knowledgeable in makeup that I know what looks great on me. Now having said that what should I do with my old eyeshadow shades that I experimented with most of them I have thrown away as it was more than 2 years old. My older sister doesn’t really wear makeup and if she does its more like lip gloss and from higher end makeup like Sephora or MAC. Now I am left with similar repetitive eyeshadow shades and eyeshadows I thought I liked, thought I could make it work but now I hate it. (LOL. it sounds like a relationship). Any tips girls? Any lip gloss I have I actually use that out, so thats not a problem( I am a lip gloss freak).
I have a new baked Hard Candy eyeshadow duo (Used it about 5x, but I don’t like it)
I have a BRAND NEW Arissa lip palette( never used, but changed my mind on it) Can’t return it, its past due
A Maybelline mascara I used ONCE and didn’t like it.
Some coastal scents samples etc.
The list goes on…
I hate to throw makeup away as i feel it waste money.
I guess you could ask your friends to see if they want any of it. Or you could also try to sell it on Ebay even though it is used make-up. Some people might not mind that, especially if it is in fairly new condition.
Also, you could always try to mix the colors you didn’t like with colors you do like just to start trying to use it up. Mixing colors can actually turn out really pretty as long as they are similar shades that you are mixing.
hope this helped
How do I make friends?
I’m in middle school and it seems like no matter how hard I try, people have no desire to be my friend. I have several people I hang out with but no real friends. I had one good friend but then she people, and then people told people something deeply personal and I am very mad at her. Now the entire middle school is laughing at me and I have no friends. Unfortunately, I am a teachers pet. I am decently smart and have made a very strong relationship with one of my teachers. I am half a foot taller than everybody else and so I stand out a little and well, I’m very noticeable because of that and the fact that I’m almost always alone. 10% of the people in our grade are SNOBS!! (Intense snobs too, like "my life is miserable because my dad won’t give me MORE money to take me shopping for more close to fill my closet that’s bigger than the girl’s locker room" and "We aren’t going to Florida this weekend so my life is terrible" and "Daddy got me a interview with a buddhist monk for my World Histories project") I want to make friends with people who aren’t snobs and who will take me for me, not how much makeup I wear…
The best advice I can give you is to just be friendly with people. I don’t know how bad the secret was that the girl blabbed about but just ignore it. If you act like it’s not a big deal, then eventually it will go away. Keep in mind you’re only in middle school. You won’t be taller than everyone forever. Once you hit 15 or so everyone else will catch up to your height. I remember being taller than most people in elementary school and now I’m shorter than most people haha. Just give it time. High school is way better than middle school and college is even better than high school. It only gets better from where you are now
Planning Your First Cruise – Things To Consider Part 1
So you’ve heard how great cruise vacations are, and now you’ve decided to take to the high seas for a fortnight of luxury and pampering. But there’s a lot to think about. So before you select a cruise line, a cruise ship or even get in touch with a travel agent, there are certain issues that are vital to consider.
1) Who is going on the cruise?
Although this question should be easy to answer, it can have a bearing on the type of cruise line and ship that you ultimately choose.
If you and your partner want to take a relaxing cruise, there are many ships that are aimed at couples. In fact some cruise ships actively discourage or even ban people from taking children onboard.
If you will be cruising as a couple, it’s also important to consider the dining situation. On ships with assigned seating, you will have to specify the size of table that you want. However, on many ships, tables for two are in short supply, so if this is an important issue, this may influence your choice of cruise line and ship. Just make sure that you make this clear to your travel agent or the cruise line when booking.
On the other hand, if you want to take your children or travel with the rest of your extended family, there are certain cruise lines and ships within cruise lines that are specifically tailored with family vacations in mind.
2) How much have you got to spend?
It’s possible to find a cruise vacation to suit almost any budget. So before you go any further it’s important to work out how much you’re willing to spend on your holiday.
But as a general rule, you’ll need to set aside at least $150 per person per day to cover the cost of your cruise. However, bigger cabins in more luxurious ships can cost many times this figure.
However, it is possible to get more for your money if you;
a) Book early: Most cruise lines are willing to give generous discounts if you book your cruise 6-12 months in advance.
b) Book late: Likewise, if you book within 2 months of setting sail, most cruise lines will give you hefty discounts to fill the remaining cabins.
3) How long have you got?
The number of days that you want your vacation to last will determine the type and location of cruises that are available to you.
If you only have a few days, the main option is a one port cruise. This means that the ship leaves port sails around the sea/ocean for two or three days and then returns to the same port. The ship doesn’t call at any other ports, but it does give you a few days at sea. This is a good way to get the feel for a certain cruise ship, or even cruising in general.
If you have a week to spare, this gives you more choices. If you live in the US, this gives you the choice of Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, Mexico or even a Caribbean cruise. If you live in Europe this will give you access to the mediterranean, north africa, or even a nordic cruise.
Alternatively, if you want to increase the number of locations available, you could fly to and from the start/finish location of your cruise or take a one way cruise either flying to the start location or flying home after disembarkation.
If you have two weeks or longer, you can cruise almost any part of the world.
4) What time of the year?
The time of year that you take your cruise will have a major affect on two issues;
a) The Price: As with all forms of travel, your holiday will cost more during the peak season. In contrast, most cruises are cheaper in the spring or fall.
Traditionally, the winter was considered the high season for Caribbean destinations, but due to the weight of supply and demand (people who have to take their vacation during the summer) the summertime costs are almost on a par with the cost of a winter Caribbean cruise.
b) The Locations Available: The time of year that you take your cruise will also determine the locations that are available. Although this won’t make much difference to the more mainstream locations such as the Caribbean or the Mediterranean, certain places have a distinct cruise season.
If you want to go to Alaska or northern Europe, the main cruise season lasts from May till September.
For Antartica, the season is even shorter, running from November to February.
Although the tropical regions are in season all year, there is a great variation in the amount of rainfall throughout the year. Locations such as the Caribbean will have less rain during the summer months and more rain during the winter months.
And finally, although not a restriction as such, some people prefer to avoid places that may be affected by the hurricane season. If a cruise ship encounters a storm it will alter its route to avoid it, which means you may miss certain places that you wanted to visit.
5) What part of the world do you want to visit?
You can cruise almost anywhere in the world, even landlocked countries are often available to explore through river cruises. So it’s no surprise that this is one of the hardest decisions for cruise newcomers to make.
The amount of days that you have for your vacation will narrow your options, but beyond that, consider other issues, such as;
If you want to or have to take your vacation at a certain time of the year, which locations are available?
If you particularly want to use a certain cruise line, which locations do their ships visit?
What type of weather and climate do you prefer?
Are there any particular landmarks that you want to visit?
Are there any activities or adventures that you want to experience?
Now all you have to do it to get in touch with your travel agent.

How many people here feel that girls in a relationship should pay for meals too?
So I’m in a relationship and I can’t stress this enough to my girlfriend that I feel that she should pay for some of our meals too. Whenever we go out or whenever I go see her, I’m always the one that’s paying for meals. Not that this is a problem, but it sort of ticks me off that I’m living off my financial aid basically and she has a part time job.
She doesn’t work too much, about 8 hours a week but she spends her money on other things when I’m the one paying for everything. Just a few days ago she told me how her sister ordered this $100 makeup kit that she’s going to pay for later and it really ticked me off because if she has money in her pockets, she should use it to pay for the meals we eat together instead of buying other things. Keep in mind that all the money I’m using comes from my financial aid, and she on the other hand has a part time job.
She pays for meals sometimes, and I emphasize sometimes. She only pays when I ask her to. I can only recall one time where she voluntarily paid for us, but even at that time she was still joking around with how broke she is and that I should pay.
If I was to put how much she pays vs. how much I pay into numbers, it would look like she pays for meals about 20% of the time while I pay the rest.
So Yahoo! Answers, what do you think? I feel she should pay for the meals 40% of the time, it makes me feel more appreciated if she offered to pay more often but unfortunately this isn’t the case.
if want ur girl to stick around u better stop b!tching about paying 4 meals. get over it dude
