1. Next time your shopping together go to a department store where they do those free makeovers and just be like "oooh, can I try that? lol let’s both do it" if she says yes, you can take it from there- ask if you can go and get something you’ve just tried from the pharmacy (the cheaper version) cause you actually really like it (to your surprise… cause it totally wasn’t planned).
2. You could just ask "did you ever wear makeup" next time you see an ad for makeup on TV, or you’re walking past it in the shops. Once you’re on the topic just let her know you’re keen to try it. Tell her why too so she’s more inclined to let you, if you’ve got bad skin just say ‘my skin’s been so gross thesedays maybe foundation will make a difference’ or ‘come on, everyone thinks I’m so young at school cause I have little baby eyelashes! lol’ However you talk to her normally just incorprate it in there.
3. You could just save up and get some yourself then start wearing it a tiny tiny little untill she says something, when you can just say ‘Is that the first time you’ve noticed? lol. I’ve been wearing it for aages- it’s so cool it makes your eyes look so massive (if it’s mascara, or ’skin look so perfect’ if it’s foundation) you should put some on, lets see!.. keep your half of the conversation going happy and fun and innocent so she’s less likely to be mad, and if she is- just apologise, explain you didn’t realise it was so bad, and leave it at that for afew days without asking about it or wearing it (maybe leave it in her room). THEN once she’s forgotten, you can try and sell the idea of her letting you again.

He is new to our school and he came on Monday. I saw him in the beginning of the day and thought "who the hell is that guy!?" and I haven’t ever seen him and of course thought he was new, but I was real intimidated by him from a distance because he looked so old and doesn’t look high school age and more like 25 (his build intimidated me a lot too.. I’ve never seen anyone in high school that can be that muscular without steroids or something).I’m surprised at everything, since I’m not exactly popular at all(I have a couple real good friends) and I don’t drink or do drugs or even go to parties and am sort of a theater geek, it seems like I don’t really exist to most people but I do take care of myself real well, try for the gym 5 days a week and I don’t even wear makeup.

anyways at lunch on Tuesday i was eating in the cafeteria by myself and he came by and asked if he can sit with me and said he was new and doesn’t really know many people..so of course I said yeah sure! and we just started talking until the bell rang,then we basically made plans to go out Friday for dinner and to see a movie, and we did and this is where I sort of found out he "had A LOT of money"

The date went awesome and he’s so sweet and respectful(very mature)and overall just real easy to talk to and we sort of seemed to have a natural chemistry and got along well. I’ve always been a hopeless when it comes to a relationship, I’ve never been comfortable with any other guys before so this was a change, and it felt real nice. He’s the exact same when it comes to girls. Well when were about go leave we were outside at a bench and he had to tell me something and no use of hiding it. He told me he sells cocaine, not he’s not proud of it. He said he’s not a bad person but he has to do it, he lives with his dad who is an alcoholic and is a deadbeat, he told me he has no choice but to buy his own food and rent, and basically to support himself. He said everything else is saved towards college because he knows nobody else is going to help him with money. He explained he’s been gathering clients for the last 2 years, and promised he’s going to stop when he turns 18. He said he wouldn’t ever get me involved with anything if anything was meant to happen between us and also said he’s very against drugs himself, has never even tried cocaine. I said I need to think things over, and he said he understands.

I really need some advice! I REALLY like him…Never met anyone like him before. If you were in my situation how would you react?? I’m going to let him know tomorrow, why not just take the chance??

I would give him a chance. His job is only a way to keep himself alive and healthy. He doesn’t do drugs (as you say), he treats you nice and he is honest. On top of all that you like him! He sounds like a very good kid. Like I said, give him a chance. If you realize that he was lying, then let him go. But right now you’re just assuming the worst out of a person who has one imperfection. Be open minded and see how things work out.

Though with all of that, I was sad to hear her once say that she wished she was closer to another friend of hers more because she could not talk to me about makeup, as I was absolutely clueless on that topic. I knew that too, though I was kind of sad to hear it, but I knew that whenever we went out on outings, she and I for a long period of time would have nothing to say to each other until we got to where we were going. I think this might be because we see each other every day now, so maybe we’ve exhausted all possible conversation material, plus there are no problems in our own lives, except this one troubling me right now.

I know she has had much better friends than I in the past, and sometimes I wonder why she still is friends with a slow person like me. I’m not sure if I was able to make her as happy, or was able to help her as much as she has helped me.
Sometimes I feel the same way about how I cannot always talk to her about the things that I like, that I would usually talk about with my other friends (though they feel a bit distant now)

I don’t often call my best friend, and she has to end up calling me, which I assume causes her to think that I think less of her if she has to be the one that wants to talk to me, and I can see that would hurt her feelings, but I don’t think that way. I never had a friend who I was so close to before, and sometimes I am not sure of what to talk about since we see each other everyday so often. She has confronted me about this several times and she says that she doesn’t like that I don’t call her. I tell her I’m sorry, but she knows I don’t change.

I deserve her being mad at me.

I tried calling her today, since she was initially mad about this yesterday, and she just hung up on me. I called her back asking her why she did that, and she said she didn’t want to talk to me.

And now, I’ve just left it at that. It’s still the same day, so I think I have time to do something about it, but I don’t know what to do.

It’s definitely hard to be friends with someone you have very little in common with, especially if you see each other everyday since you don’t have much in common with her. I think that you should probably start ringing her more often and trying harder with the conversation because it seems clear that she means a lot to you and you’re glad that you have her as a friend and you don’t want to lose her but you have to let her know that. One of the reasons she may have stopped talking to you is because you don’t call her and she thinks that it’s only her that is putting in the effort and she might think that maybe you don’t want to be friends and that might have hurt her and made her angry at you and know she doesn’t want to talk to you. Keep making an effort to communicat with her, keep phoning her, text her, email her, IM her and if show up at her house a few times so that she has to speak to you. Tell her that you’re sorry and that you still want to be her friend and tell her that her friendship has helped you a lot. Also, you’ve said that she is in to make up but can’t talk to you because you’re not, well to keep the conversation going why don’t you get her to teach you stuff about make up you could host a sleepover and she could bring her makeup kit over and make you up, show you how to apply make up and teach you what different things do and what you use them for and you could do the same for her with something you’re into. If you feel stuck for conversation with her why don’t you try and find out more about her because there is probably quite a lot that you don’t know about her just choose questions to ask about things you don’t really know about her just go over some questions in your head and answer the ones you do know then save the ones you don’t know to ask her hopefully you will find out more about her and start some more conversations. Another thing you could do is just comment like if you’ll are hanging out just like look and see something and just make a general comment about it and hopefully she will reply. Anyway…good luck

Right after I graduated (age 18), I started dating my current boyfriend. I have friends who are 19 and have never been in relationships before. Just give yourself some time. It’s not a big deal to have have a boyfriend in high school. You’ll find a guy at some point.

Also I have tried to make contact with her. She’s changed her mobile number, I no longer know where she works and hates technology so must be the only person in the world without FB. I keep hoping I will run into her in the shops or somewhere around town, but then I start actually trying to keep my eye out for her while I’m at the local shops… ah

I don’t think it’s a good idea to tell her. I mean, unless the only way you can move on is to have your heart ripped a bit. I think you just need to give it time and find someone perfect in a different way.
